The Only Exception (Paramore)

Lagu yang dibawakan oleh band yang menyanyikan soundtrack Twilight ini emang udah bukan lagu baru lagi. Tapi berhubung aku suka banget ni lagu, jadi gapapa lah dibikin reviewnya. (sekalipun udah telat banget. Sorry :p)
Siapapun yang udah tau Paramore, pasti udah apal banget sama suara dari vokalisnya, Hayley Williams. Bisa dibilang satu lagu ini emang bikin kaget banget. Karena nggak biasanya Paramore bikin lagu kayak gini. Lagu Paramore yang biasanya jelas beda jauh sama lagu ini. Kalo biasanya Paramore itu lagunya sangar dengan dentuman musik mengentak, lagu ini dibuat halus secara accoustic dengan lirik lagu gamblang yang mudah dipahami siapa saja. Meskipun bukan pertama kalinya Paramore menyajikan lagu secara accoustic, tapi tetep aja agak aneh. Apalagi kalo kita inget-inget lagu terakhir paramore sebelum lagu ini beredar adalah Brick by boring Brick, yang mana dari awal aja kita udah diperdengarkan suara drum yang mengentek-entak.

Bener kan? Baca liriknya aja udah jelas banget maksud dari lagu ini. Lagu ini bercerita soal seorang anak dari keluarga yang kurang harmonis-broken home- dimana si anak ini menolak untuk percaya dengan yang namanya cinta. Dia janji dia nggak bakalan terlalu percaya sama yang namanya cinta “And that was the day that I promised. I'd never sing of love. If it does not exist”. Tapi keadaan berbalik waktu dia jatuh cinta. Dia membuat pengecualian (exception) Cuma untuk orang yang dia cinta itu “But darling, You, are, the only exception”. perlahan-lahan dia mulai berubah... dia tau kalo cinta mungkin nggak bertahan selamanya. Dia percaya selalu ada resiko kehilangan. dan sampai saat ini dia sedang berjuang untuk percaya sama yang namanya cinta.” And I'm on my way to believing”
